Did I get thrown for a loop?

The middle market IB group I signed with earlier this year continually cited how they do deals with JPM, GS, etc. all the time and that their analysts beat out some BB kids in PE recruitment.

After hearing this information was very excited and ended up taking the position, but now I am not sure if I was just drinking their kool-aid. Is this normal/possible?

I would say try emailing some of the individuals at the firm and asking them firsthand, or trying to find people within PE that were from your firm.

Or better yet, why not just post the firm and request WSO to chime in with their opinions?
