Dilemma for experience.
Second year aim; BB IBD division though there's still a little bit of me that wants to apply to a couple of trading positions.
Secured a summer internship in my first year at uni, in my home city of London, direct m&a experience at an accountancy firm. Would you take this over an Asset Management internship at a well established specialist firm, within the equities department?
No one? Equity department of Asset Management firm or M&A at accounting firm...is it worth the hassle to renege on the M&A internship for the equity when my end goal at the moment is M&A? Or will the name prove better?
do the accting firm internship. it'll look a lot better on your resume if you want to do IB. I have 2 friends that did a yr in accting restructuring and now are successful at a bank's IBD. Not many people go from Asset Management to i-banking from what I've witnessed.
