Direct Lending Resume

Looking to lateral into a HC IB group. Currently at a direct lending shop and was fortunate to work on a few deals this year and wanted to know how to best present my experience on resume that would be positively viewed by bankers.

Most of my work has been diligence (data rooms, questions list, management calls), IC materials (memo + charts), IC presentation, and then deal execution (making sure insurance / third party diligence doesn’t have any red flags and random closing tasks).

Wanted to know if it made more sense to frame my resume to focus on deals:

“Provided financing for $250 million LBO / recap for a pharma company” to mirror banking resume

or

“Underwrote $250M urgent care business focusing on risk of business and modeled downside scenario”

Also cover 10 portfolio accounts (quarterly financials reviews) and wanted to know if it made sense to include in resume.

Any templates or guide would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Firm only does senior secured loans (ie no mezz, subordinated debt, or distressed stuff). This impacts the type of companies we look at (low risk, stable companies that could honestly underwrite themselves).

Idea behind HC coverage group is to get exposed to a broader array of transactions across debt and equity and see hairier deals.
