Disability Diversity Programs?
Hi all,
Incoming sophomore here. Recruiting for junior summer is coming up, and I know a few banks where people with disabilities qualify for diversity recruiting/events. The eligibility phrasing is often 'people who identify as: a person with a disability'.
I have a non-visible disability that my GP knows about, we've just never diagnosed it. But, it has been an important part of my life.
So my question is, will people think I'm bullshitting if I attend these events? (none of my peers know, so they might be thinking wtf). Also, will the interviewers/HR ask about the disability or for documentation?
For context, I am a straight white guy so I imagine I would stand out a bit at diversity events / in diversity recruiting and I just don't want people to think im a lying asshole.
Any advice is much appreciated.
