Do banks cross-check ur resume and background check

Title. Resume was just unpaid internships and I’d rather list some easier to verify paid employment even tho it wasn’t on my resume. However I’d think if my background check doesn’t include anything in my resume it’d be weird. Not sure if they care or not

Right but they’re unpaid not rly verifiable so I’ve heard they don’t rly care as an intern

yes lol, ppl gotta stop putting bogus because there are consequences

If it’s some random local place then no, banks don’t care. If you say you interned at a large name brand, they might check just to call you out on some BS. Banks know most people have little to no real work experience as a first semester sophomore in college. School/Clubs/GPA matter more.

do the resume and check need to match tho? The check is a yr after u get the offer so its natural you’d have other exp by then

To both replies: the bank doesn’t care about your local internship that much. If you say you had some big PE internship freshman year that played a big role in landing the job, then that is something they would verify. Banks are not calling local companies about you. Background checks are for identity verification, school enrollment, and maybe gpa/transcripts.
