Got an offer from UBS a few hours ago, landed a 6 month internship with the Finance team of the IB division in Zurich. Gonna be part of the FX Deriv. prod/business team.
Thing is, they want me to start July 15th, which is in less than 2 weeks!!! Needless to say I have very little time to prepare everything.
Most important point: accommodation.
Ok so I'm supposed to find a place to live within 2 weeks. Completely forgot to ask the HR person that called me to announce the good news if they helped in any way to find a place so I sent her an email to ask (she hasn't responded yet).
Do bulge bracket banks and especially "high-finance" places help interns to find accommodation?
I mean, I'll be working in the main Investment Banking building of UBS in Zürich, surely they must have something for interns, there are literally hundreds of them, some of the coming from abroad. They must have something planned, no? Do they have like some sort of special apartments reserved only for interns?
I'm getting a bit worried here, need to find a solution within the next 10 days.

Contact the recruiter ASAP and tell them that you need housing.
lol. kindly ask if they provide any assistance for housing. if they sense you are unable to take on the internship, they may even pull the offer

In my experience, normally companies in Europe (no idea about UBS) have intern apartments. Just call and ask.
Ok, spoke to the HR this morning. She said they do not have special UBS apartments for interns but that she said she'd send me links where I could find somewhere to stay. She said most people go to these places (from the links) so nothing to worry about it seems.

I can suggest the website I used to find my place here in Germany, wg-gesucht.de, this is for shared apartments, ie people looking for roommates. They have cities in Switzerland listed on their website as well. It is mostly in German though, so if you don't know German, you will need to translate it.
