Whats your opinion about my chance in getting into goldsman summer asso. Internship ..? If any suggestion you want to give or any issue you feel please try to point out ..
🙂
I get the sense that you're not from the US and have never recruited banking in the US, which is fine.
To your answer, stats are stats. As long as you network with the GSB bank visits, you'll get a first round virtually anywhere. No one is really going to care for 10th or 12th gpa, probably not even undergrad gpa. As long as you can talk about your experiences, know your technicals, and are personable the sky is the limit.
Yes im beurocrat .. Im new into banking sir
Hey man, also originally from India. Focus on attention to detail (it is Goldman, not Goldsman), improve your grammar, and you'll have a pretty good chance almost everywhere in the US. With Stanford GSB, you probably can get something better than Goldman, but if it is Goldman that you seek then you would have a good chance.
Intern in pe lbo ..do they see 10th ,12th marks ..? I have 3.5 in 10th ,3.46 in 12th and 3.8 gpa in undergrad
No, they don't look at high school grades (interesting that you even had GPA – I just had percentage in the boards). You can put your undergrad GPA on the resume if you want (probably ask your classmates for advice because I am not doing an MBA). Tbh since you were an IAS officer, you probably would have lot of other things to offer than just your grades, so keep that in mind when you prepare for the interviews and make your resume
Are you an IAS officer? I think you can certainly do Goldman with a Stanford GSB MBA. Forget your 10th/12th grade GPAs—everyone will only care about your college GPA now. As an American of Desi descent, I think you're selling yourself short. A lot of my Bangladeshi relatives who were HSC/SSC toppers are now leading successful careers as tenured professors at Ivy League schools, consultancies at BCG/McK/Bain, diplomatic mission/UN/World Bank reps, C-suite at unicorn tech companies, etc.. #4 on UPSC is no joke, my friend. Just brag about your prior experiences and fix your English grammar. Congratulations!
Hi what do you mean by selling yourself short? Can You explain it
Meaning you are underestimating yourself and your potential.
How under estimating man ?any suggestion from your side ?
But if we want to go in investment banking ,its only choice right ?
