DO NOT CHASE THE MONEY IN FINANCE

You’ll make decent/good money in any role. If you perform you’ll do really good. People going into finance only motivated by money tend to burn out fairly quickly.

I like to use the sports analogy. If you’re a Top QB or Pitcher, you’re going to make all of the money. Same with UFC fighters, top soccer players, etc.

The same concept applies to work. If you’re a top performer, you’re going to make top dollar. If you’re not as good or well known, you’re not going to make as much and you’re going to make earnings like backups/relief pitches/ no name ufc fighters/ etc.

Find motivation outside of money and you’ll guarantee kick ass.
