This LMM that many of you have never heard of pays the most minuscule bonuses known to man and cultivates an extremely liberal and french culture that is beyond toxic.
Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights on toxic cultures in certain banks:
French Banks: Specifically, Societe Generale has been mentioned for its hierarchical and exclusionary culture, especially towards non-French employees. The work environment includes yelling and berating, with demanding hours that can exceed those of typical US banks.
LMM PE Firms: Some lower middle market private equity firms have been noted for worse work-life balance and lower pay compared to bulge bracket banks. The work can be less intellectually stimulating and more focused on nitty-gritty management tasks.
General Toxic Cultures: There are mentions of banks where management touts "culture" as a selling point without maintaining it, leading to poor work-life balance and dissatisfaction among employees.
