Do you send thank-you emails for informational interviews?

So I was wondering what the consensus was on sending a thank-you note after informational interview. Usually it only makes sense if the person you're talking to asks for your resume, but what if they don't? I do just to stay on the safe side but was wondering if forgetting to follow up is a big deal.

Sure, I meant that if they ask for your resume you have to email them anyways so it only makes sense to add a thank-you. I agree that you need to send a note anyways, I was just curious if others did the same.

Funniest

Bankers are much like pretty girls you somehow manage to convince to join you back in your shitty ass freshman year dorm after a long night of parties/bar hopping to "smoke" or "post-game" or whatever retarded fake excuse you make so you can inconspicuously go back to consensually perform coitus on each other - you want to seem like you have a lot going on and are very desirable so you don't text them the day after. If you email them after the informational interview, what message are you sending them? That you genuinely appreciated the time you spent talking with them learning more about their industry and their experience? That you had a good connection and could see yourself being buddies with them? no no no no no, complete rookie mistake.

You want to seem like you are very desirable and have other banks and bankers clamoring over the prospects of having you join their teams next year as a SA. You want to make it so they contact you first. Don't email, text, linkedin, or anything of the sort. Make them chase you. If they don't reach out to you within 2 weeks, maybe make a move to remind them of you and remind them of how desirable you are. Find them on snapchat and add them. Maybe send them a snapchat of you out on a coffee meeting with another banker - immediately follow up with the "whoops wrong person didn't mean to send that to you" snap so they know you're not trying hard. You are the prized golden gazelle and they are the lioness - let them hunt you.
