Does any of our MBA finance theory education gets to use in IB?

I am about to join a top 5 global MBA b-school and interested in finance. Wondering if any of the knowledge of finance theory would be used on the job. As in one lecture , Aswath damodAran said many Bankers don’t even know where beta came from- most say Bloomberg site lol.
