Does anyone actually like their job?
Hello all,
I am a current undergrad that just signed an offer for a FT IB position after graduation. After reading all the threads about 1st years quitting or having breakdowns, it makes me wonder, are there any analysts here that like their jobs? If so are you east / west coast? what makes it "doable" for you? is the culture good?
Thanks.

At the junior level, I find that the people in public markets enjoy their job the most since they are truly passionate about markets.
Know some people who enjoy PE but mostly because of the lifestyle and education. I have met zero psychos who enjoy IB work.
The most satisfied people I know are not in finance, or run their own firm.
East coast. A little perspective, out of the 100+ analysts in my class, 9 are left. Analysts usually work in banking to pursue other interest. I learned what I had to to get to the buyside. Long term bankers tend to be clueless MBAs with tons of debt that have no clue what they’re in for.
