Personally when I was in banking it definitely got easier after the first year. I didn't know my head from a hole in the ground first year which makes everything take twice as long as it should. Also you'll have people under you who can do more of the grunt work usually with each passing year. You'll be much more accustomed to the work that needs to get done and much more efficient at doing your job in 2nd year.

Will it be a dramatic improvement? No, but it should definitely be more manageable. Bigger change will come either from switching to a more chill buyside firm or getting the Associate promote.
