Does this mean I got job at private equity firm?
I followed the advice here and networked a lot. I got an interview.
So I found a shit private equity firm where I live in TEXAS. I made a Linkined profile and mass messaged people at the firm.
I managed to message the President as well, and emailed him my resume. He said, "thanks, will forward." After the interview, I emailed the bugger again, and he said, "Great!"
So at the interview, one of the guys said, "Wow I really appreciate your persistence. To be honest, I'm only interviewing you because I got so many people forwarding your resume to my inbox." The other guy said, "We know you'll be able to do the job."
HOWEVER, the fucker said it will take two weeks to get back? Why so long? He even said, "we need people."
Its for a shit position at the firm, but he said, I'll have the ability to move up.
Do you think I got the job? I mean, he said, "I know you'll be able to do it." And both praised my persistence.
BUT Why are they taking two weeks? And why did they not reply to my Thank-You email????

IDK. I will have to email clients he said. He said, that as I gain more knowledge of how the firms works, and if I perform well, he would give me "direct client interaction" and that I will "represent the firm". I didn't ask furthur, because then they would know I don't know anything.
So I don't know. I was too afraid to ask.
You probably want to figure out as much as possible about the job you think you just got, before they realize you don't know anything when you start doing it. Sounds like it might be an IR role?

I had an MD at a hedge fund I was interviewing at offer me the job verbally only to get the "sorry, you didn't get it" call three days later. With these guys it's not over till it's over.
It could be that writing up the offer will take a shit ton of time. Or Shit HR is on a Shit vacation in Shitturdehstan and didn't get anyone to cover their shit at work. Maybe they are waiting on a Shit employee to leave so you don't get a shit taste in your mouth. Possibly that they are in the midst of a deal and don't want to show you Shit until complete. Maybe, they had to take a shit and rushed out 2 weeks in order to drop their shit. Possibly you should be thankful as shit that you could very well have a PE job. Maybe they are shit and will not give you an offer and are passive aggressive as shit. Fuck, that would be shit. Anyways, I have some shit I need to get done and I am beyond giving two shits about this shit.
