your MD will shit on a piece of paper and smear it around a bit. Then your associate will give it to you, so that you can scan it into the system.
You have to recreate the hand-smeared piece of paper in your respective company’s branding in PPT.
You would usually start with an old pitchbook your firm did then tailor it to the new opportunity. You probably add slides and take others away but the bones/structure remain generally the same.

Only for a special circumstance or very unique pitch should you even be considering starting from scratch. Think of it in terms of time commitment given the low conversion rates of pitches to deals (in general). Starting from scratch is moreso for things like the CIM or MP (and even then you can pull from other deals to brainstorm)
