Echoing others, start from an old deck and go from there. From my memory, a high level deck is basically:

  • I. Intro
  • II. Firm and Team Overview (including list of relevant transactions)
  • III. Potential Transaction Overview (including potential buyers or sellers)
  • IV. Potential Valuation (Starting from Football Field)
  • Appendix

Only for a special circumstance or very unique pitch should you even be considering starting from scratch. Think of it in terms of time commitment given the low conversion rates of pitches to deals (in general). Starting from scratch is moreso for things like the CIM or MP (and even then you can pull from other deals to brainstorm)
