I clicked on the side "forum topics" box and made a comment. I deleted it because it does not relate to IB.

An intern spent two weeks on a project and scheduled an 11AM meeting to present his work to the director of our group. The day before the meeting the intern was boasting about some "sick" concert he was going to that night. You can see where this is going. The intern got obliterated and slept in until 1045AM when he decided to call our director and ask if he could push the meeting back to noon. Needless to say, his work went unseen and he didn't get a return offer.

  1. Fake a heart attack so he could get out of his contract earlier to go for a consulting internship.
  2. Literally live in the office for 12 weeks, because he couldn't find a place to stay in time within his budget. Needles to say, he got a return offer.
I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

careful w/ living at the office (this happens every year - shower at the company gym, sleep under desks, ect...)...some kid did that at morgan stanley and got fired because of it.

I am a proprietary Govt Bond Trader...i post my comments on the mkt intraday at twitter...and longer articles on my blog. I've accumulated a lot of educational info in these blogs..so i highly recommend checking them out http://govttrader.blogspot.com

This kid wasn't a SA, but was going through recruitment. Showed up to the interview in khakis and polo. He didn't get an offer

Did he also have Sperrys and Costa Del Sols with croakies?

Went back to the office after a mandatory work happy hour and passed out drunk at my desk. Woke up with the worst hangover imaginable at around 6am drooling on my keyboard. MD walked by a few minutes later and give me a head-nod. Think he thought I had pulled an all-nighter. Got the offer.
