Easier to get into asset management or equity research straight out of undergrad?

From what I can gather... the work at the analyst level is quite similar within both of these divisions of an investment bank.

So if I am applying for a BB coming straight out of undergrad, would I have a better chance of landing an Asset Management or an equity research job offer in general?

And both are easier to break in than IBD, right?

(I heard that asset management is very hard to break into at the undergrad level...)

Thanks!

Sell side ER is tougher to get into than AM and IBD out of undergrad (there is no structured hiring, teams are very lean, downsizing/continuous industry consolidation, it's a cost center, etc).

This - the fixed income research teams are even more difficult to get into - at least at my firm, all of them require prior modeling experience and markets knowledge due to the hybrid nature of the job and the lean teams.
