EB SA Class Sizes
What are the summer class sizes for EVR, PJT and CVP in NY? Assuming 50ish for Evercore, 30ish for PJT, 30ish for Centerview. Is that correct?

Last year was 21, not sure what the count this year was
Heard from HR they were planning on having about 40 interns (2021) across all groups. Not sure how many camberview (shareholder advisory) or park hill (RE and Secondaries) take, but there should be 9-10 in RSSG and the rest will be M&A. They've been growing the number of M&A kids in a class pretty steadily over the last few years. Not at all the 6-7 person small group it used to be at Bx.
I heard this year class was ~15 people.
When you say this year, do you mean the incoming summer 2020 class or the summer 2021 class they're recruiting rn?

Realize the crushing weight of not being good enough to stand out in a process that will take 1% of total applicants.
Or, better
Ignore it. Recruiting is 30% skill, 50% networking, then 92% luck. You'll end up in that 1% if it's meant to be and if you do all that you can.
With that kind of math, recruiting is going to be 99% luck for you.
EVR class size is about 60 now (!) lol big part of the reason they don't call themselves a boutique anymore is how massive they've gotten.
what do they call themselves now? Global independent advisory investment bank is a mouthful so there has to be something short that they use.

curious about Lazard offices if anyone has specific numbers
~40 for NYC M&A/RX (full-time) so would expect summer class to be ~35-40
Is 35-40 for all SA Lazard NYC groups? What's the breakdown for each group: RX, M&A, Healthcare, FIG, etc?
Lazard intern class in all of North America is about 60, with NYC making up a little over half of that

Evercore Menlo took 7
is this total between EVR Menlo healthcare and tech? I heard healthcare takes 2-3 per year and tech about 7-8.
Qatalyst takes 3-4 SAs and then recruits the rest of its analyst class (about 10 total) for FT
MS Tech takes about 10 SAs
Do you have any insight into why Qatalyst does that? Are all its FT just kids who got returns at other banks?

Meanwhile Jefferies has around ~60 in NYC and ~90 overall. Reminds me how much of an outlier they are. Larger intern class than any EB, but considered a MM???
It's not about the size of the intern class but the size of the deals that matters
Moreso speaks to the number of deals they do (mm deals to mega deals usually only have 1 analyst staffed)
