Currently interviewing with a Chinese IB in HK for a role in their ECM syndicate team - can anyone provide more information about what the ECM syndicate team does in particular and how it relates to other parts of the ECM team?
Also keen to hear how people view longer-term career trajectory of ECM syndicate team?
Quite a rare opportunity to break into investment banking at a Chinese IB that wants to recruit more international people (I am non-Mandarin speaker, top UK uni, Big 4 audit background (4 years) but currently working in corporate/commercial finance at a RE firm (1 year))?
I do however really like Real Estate and not sure if I want to leave, but thinking that I can always transfer laterally into RE industry team later on?
Any thoughts/comments/opinions welcome!
