Email conversation convention

So basically, how do you start your emails in a conversation? Dear John, Hi John, Hello John, John, Dear Mr. Smith, etc? Also when you have a long back and forth email convo, do you stick with the same thing every time you respond, or do you change it up? For example, the first email would start with "Dear John," and the second one you would use "Hi John,"

Or, after the first email and response, do you take out the "Dear John" and just go straight to the email?

Just curious what everyone else uses.

The thing I've heard about using Mr./Ms. is that it seems more formal, and that it makes a cold email "warmer" by using their first name. As long as you maintain a polite tone, using first names even for higher ups would work?

I've never said Dear So and So in any e-mail.

If I don't know someone I'll start it off with Mr./Mrs./Ms./whatever. My opening is always: By way of introduction, my name is ______; I am a junior at university. I feel like that flows well.

If you're e-mailing a black banker or swagon throw a "su woo" in there at the end, they'll know what you mean. Guaranteed job.

CoochieManeGo to the hood and throw a "su woo."

Record. Upload to YouTube.

Gotta be more specific cuhz, you forgot to say you need a partner to record and upload because you will probably get shot the fuck down for throwing out a su woo

Alright since shit was thrown when I tried to be humorous, the actual answer is that it doesn't fucking matter. Additionally once the correspondence has initiated, obviously you don't say "Dear John" every single time.

My honest advice on how to address letters would be just with their name:

Jack,

My name is jgx101 and I am a junior finance major at X University, currently interning with XYZ company. In talking with Kid Cudi, he mentioned that you would be a great person to contact with respect to (whatever you want to talk about). I would love to chat with you if you have availability in the near future. My resume is attached for your reference and I look forward to being in touch.

Best, - jgx101
