Employee did not answer introductory email. How to follow up?

Hi all,

I was recently introduced to a junior employee at a company I am applying too via an introductory email by a more senior employee that I networked with.

He introduced us via email in the morning but I did not answer the email till later in thhe day so I think it slipped the junior employee’s inbox cuz I sent the email on Monday and it is now Friday

I really want this job and want to network with this employee before they start closing the application process. Should I follow up with an email in a week or should i just not since i do not want to pester this junior employee since I already applied and do not want to come off as a try hard.

any help is appreciated.
