Energy pigeonhole?

Hey everyone, I recently got accepted into a Barclays SA 2025 role. After doing research for interviews and case studies in the recruiting process, I realized that the energy sector interests me a lot.

A lot of people are telling me not to go into energy as it pigeonholes me. This is a bit away but I'd like to work at a hedgefund one day. Will this limit my career and potential success or should I recruit for the natres group?

Bro if it’s something you are generally interested in go for it. People are only concerned about pigeonholing themselves if they aren’t sure they know what they want to pursue with their lives. Nothing wrong with that. But everyone worth their salt specializes at some point, there’s no harm in gaining a few extra years of expertise.
