Equity Research: Compensation and Competition
I went to a NESCAC liberal arts school, and majored in economics and molecular biology(3.9 and 3.5 GPA). I now work at a top consulting firm and have focused specifically in the healthcare/biotech/pharma sector.
I've seen job postings for healthcare equity research positions and was wondering what people might know about these positions/ and how you qualify for them. I know there is a sort of imaginary wall between research and IBD but is there possibility of movement between the two? I'm somewhat new to the industry so I appreciate any explanation. Whats better- strategy consulting or equity research to move into ibanking/PE/Hedgefund pre and post mba?
Thanks again for the help.
