Equity Research to Investment Banking (LevFin)
I'm a London-based Equity Research Analyst at a large American Bulge Bracket, having joined just 2 months ago following my graduation in Late 2019.
My team is covering a segment of the Financial Institutions sector and I have enjoyed quite a bit of responsibility within a rather flat unit. My interests however, lie within IBD (more specifically, LevFin) and I am looking to transition whenever/if possible. I do have prior M&A internship experience.
Would really appreciate some advice on whether this is a viable move and what might be the best steps to take over the next 6-12 months to help meet my goal. I have heard that an internal transition might be a good option and would love to hear some thoughts on that approach vs simply applying externally for IBD Analyst roles in August/September.
Hi Tommo-Lough, any of these topics helpful:
Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
It'd really interested to hear someone's opinion as I am in a similar situation
