Was fortunate enough to receive lateral offers for the following groups (all NY based). MS M&C, JPM HC, and PJT M&A. How would you all choose considering all factors?
I'm assuming this is for an associate role? Personally I would go with JPM HC > PJT M&A > MS M&C, but that's just my ranking. Congrats regardless where you end up - all very solid groups.
I think this comes down to sector and EB vs BB. Do you have a strong preference for HC or M&C? If so, do that. Do you have a strong preference for being at an EB? Then that's a pretty clear decision.
From an analyst I know well, JPM healthcare is extremely sweaty - but also arguably a top 2 healthcare group. If it were me I would go with PJT M&A because You can work on healthcare / M&C transactions there but also will make A LOT more than either JPM or MS - with at worst the same hours as the healthcare group and at best better hours.
Having done both bulge and EB, would suggest you stay at EB through Associate 3 / VP 1 and then switch to bulge at that point if you want to be a career banker to maximize career earnings and max promotion likelihood

What type of IB did you lateral from?
Lateraled from a top mm. Thanks all for the input. Any other thoughts?
You'll get absolutely wrecked by JPM HC, one of the biggest sweatshops

How do these groups compare for analyst positions?
