Evercore London Groups

Does anyone have any insight into Evercore London groups? In terms of culture, deal flow, exits?

Also looking at how difficult it is to get into MF PE from here.

How true is it that Evercore London mainly works on MM deals? I think recently they have been working on larger transactions as the Europe operations scale up. According to MM their average transaction size for 2020 is £1.4bn in EMEA, though this might be skewed towards deals worked out of the US office? I would say they're more UMM but would appreciate any other insights

London advised AstraZeneca on the largest healthcare transaction of the year ($32bn), it was announced a few days ago. They also closed Sanofi / Principia (around $3bn) a couple of months back.

EVR poached a lot of MDs from BB over the past few years and it is paying off now. Now when it comes to exits I think your experience will be very different whether you are in an already strong group (e.g. FIG, HC, Tech, M&A) or in a weaker group that mostly chases MM deals. Will be interesting to look at exits of the upcoming analyst classes.

Look sure you can point to 1 large deal here and there. It’s not a bad shop by any means (they actually pay quite fucking well) but my point is that there are just not frequently on large cap deals. I don’t work at Evercore but I have friends there and it is their sentiment as well. Exits are pretty good, but just not in the MF sphere. Plenty of very solid MMs exits though. My goal here is just to inform people as accurately as possible what to expect when they will be at Evercore that’s all.
