Evercore paying for MBA - is this true?

Have heard Evercore provides the option of going to b-school (and will pay for it) if you return to the firm afterwards. Can anyone verify this / know anyone that has actually done it? Additionally, if Evercore does do this, why is it not advertised more?

Thanks so much in advance.

From my understanding this is true, and there are a few other EB's that do it too. The catch is you have to stay on for 2-3 years after, which doesn't make much sense vs paying for your MBA outright. Very few people actually take up this offer as you could just stay on without doing the MBA, and if you were to do the MBA, you'd probably be looking to jump to the buyside.

It's true that many don't take this offer given they'd be better off staying but those that do opt to do the MBA won't have much buyside traction given you need pre-MBA buyside experience to do post-MBA buyside work in general. Just making sure that distinction is clear

I'm really not sure why one would get their MBA while at EVR just to go back to EVR. I guess it'd provide a really fun break and opportunity to build network which could be net long term effective for the firm but there's no guarantee you'll still be there by the time you're leveraging that network to bring in business. As someone who's from a non-target and did banking then MF PE, I know the hinderance not having a branded school name can have on you in terms of first impressions etc but not sure it's totally worth taking a two year break from a job you're already in. Not really a right answer here but interesting to think about
