Used to be the lifestyle group of Evercore but that apparently changed when a 2nd partner was brought on. Don’t think they’ve done much (RECA has announced a lot more deals than RE has) recently and has seen a lot of turnover. 1 MD left during COVID and they’ve lost at least 3 associates since January 2020 (believe they have 5 or so associates overall so that’s a pretty significant number).

The most senior partner is apparently a great guy but have no idea what the rest of the senior team and overall team culture is like now. However, it seems like their analysts are frequently staying for 3 years so the culture might still be good

Hey would you mind if I pm you? I'm scheduled to speak with a few of their team members and would really appreciate any insight!

This is one of the rare instances where I would pick RECA over a traditional coverage group.Worked with RECA throughout the years and they're a bunch of great people that do great work.Pay I heard is also the same as traditional coverage groups. They see a ton of deal flow.

Tbh I have zero idea how the EBs compete for Real Estate IB deals. Even if they're doing M&A, RE isn't the most M&A heavy field and relationships in corporate finance for RE clients revolve largely around lending capability.

But I know Greenhill has a group like this too. If I had to guess, they're doing a ton of portfolio recapitalizations and not true M&A as in REIT A merges with REIT B. More like PE Manager A recapitalizes PE Fund I with an investment from PE Fund II.
