Everyone is getting offers but me...
Finished an SA stint at a MM IB in Chicago (Lincoln/Baird/SRR/William Blair) and was supposed to hear back two weeks post final date (Aug. 19) and haven't heard back yet, but I know two of the guys I was with got offers already. Reached out to Associate running FT's last Monday, said he would get back to me by the end of that week but still no response. Am I waiting to get butchered or is there still some hope left? I'm moving forward with FT Consutling, IB and Commericial Banking interviews but am beginning to get a little pissed off at the firm, frankly. Any ideas on how to handle/what might be happening would be really helpful.
Guess you did all you could in reaching out, any more and you'll be pissing them off. Is the MM your top pick? If not maybe just adjust your mindset, assume there is no offer and move forward. And if the offer comes, it comes. I think this is the most productive and gives you the most benefit if you consider things logically.
I know it must suck to know that you won't be getting offered, but heads up!
Thanks for the comment,. I would say this is my top pick for the time being--every day I wait I get a bit more annoyed with the guys. It's also much easier to take an offer from this rather than going back into recruitment mode... it feels like it's been so long since then and I am frankly out of form for that.
Use this time to recruit heavily as you genuinely don't know your offer status yet, and there's really only downside to waiting for recruiting after a no offer decision has been made
