Excel Question - Formulas showing #VALUE errors

For some reason my formulas are all showing #VALUE errors. But if I go into a cell and press F2 to show the formula, then tab over to the next cell, the value is displayed perfectly. Its a pain in the ass to have to manually F2---TAB refresh each and every cell. Anyone know what the problem could be? F9 calculate seems to be of no help.

Try tools --> options --> Calculation tab, and check automatic (instead of manual).

Save the document as a new version, close it, close out of excel completely, and reopen it.

This is sometimes necessary when excel refuses to calculate anything. There used to a force recalculate shortcut in excel, but they removed it.
