Exit to banking possible?

I am interested in joining EY's M&A Operational Transaction Group as a senior consultant which sits under the Transaction Services Group.

How difficult would it be to transition into a post graduate/MBA level investment banking or a PE operation role (i.e. KKR capstone) after staying with the group for a few years? Would it be easier to transition into corporate strategy/development instead? Either career path is fine, just wasn't sure what the typical exit opportunities are for this particular TAS unit at the company. Thank you.

Thank you, BBT. Do you know the extent to which this group is involved in building financial models when assessing synergies? I have some background in building financial models as a part of building merger scenarios--just wondering whether I will continue to do that in this TAS group.

Not 100% sure, but it appears to be more integration and operationally focused. Modeling will be a small component and likely related to margin analysis and working capital normalization and assessment. Still, if you put in time and effort, you will learn important skills and gain transaction expertise needed to jump to IB or even PE post-grad.
