Exiting Banking
My friend is a Vice President in I-Banking. He is up for a promotion to a Senior VP. He doesn't want to take up a Senior VP position since he says that one needs to bring in a lot of business to the firm and travel is hectic and he doesn't feel he has such skills to bring in business. Is this true that at that level you need have the characteristics of a sales man.
Do most people exit I-Banking even with such top pays at that level? How many VPs stay on to become MDs. I assume it is a pyramid whee only few end up at the top?Where do they go if they exit I-Baking?
I am asking this because I am considering switching careers to I-Banking and I am curious if folks exit.
