How large was the testing window they gave you? Usually it is wide enough to account for 1-2 retakes.

If you waited until the end of the window and failed, then you could be in a tough spot. If you’re in this situation, best advice I can give is ask to retake in 30 days and offer to not be paid during that time you’re studying.

I remember this happened to an analyst in my analyst class at a bulge bracket. He was unfortunately fired as expected. Careers are long don’t let this defined you.

Failed the S79 before and basically asked if there was anyway I can extended an extra 2 weeks. Told them I would pay for Knopmans additional content/tutor to help me get through. It worked but it also helped that I had a couple of MDs on my side. As someone else posted don’t let it define you. Plenty of ppl have failed and still moved on to have successful careers. See if there’s an Opportunity to move to a role internally for now while at the same time applying else where. I will say you’ll need a good story rather it’s internally or externally why you waited to the last min to start the test.
