Fall/Spring/Summer analyst role
I’m a senior at an ivy target school. I discovered banking late and knew I wanted to do banking sophomore year ie no internship sophomore year. I was completely new to the recruiting time line and season. Covid happened, things got complicated and I couldn’t land an internship junior summer. Senior year has arrived. I want to start cold calling small banks to see if I can land a fall, spring or even summer internship. The summers that I had no internship I was able to do something finance/accounting related for resume and took summer classes. I know I am more than capable for an analyst intern role, even unpaid at a small shop during fall or spring semester. Any advice that can help me break into IB. I’m not going to give up, but I would appreciate advice from those who have been in my position before and made their way into IB.
Start networking, work on your "story", read the guides and know everything you can know on technicals, get flexible on location and size of bank. The clock is ticking so hustle up.
Go on axial, locate these boutique IBs and network with alumni form your school. They will def help out. Build a relationship and ask for an internship opportunity
