Feedback for recruitment!

Hello everyone, I hope your holdiays was good. Im currently a sophomore non-diversity at a non-target recruiting for a position within IB. My biggest worry right now, is that I have been unmotivated with the technicals and that I am not prepared for them in an interview setting. I have been working through them while on break but I am worried I won't be prepared for interviews.

Regarding my current position, I am aiming for MM or LMM in NY and only have a really good lead with Lincoln International (Which would be amazing). I was looking for some blunt advice on if I am in a bad position or just some overall thoughts. Im happy to share more information about me and my candidacy if it helps.

Start sending out emails yesterday and make sure to get on the phone with some banks you’re interested in. It goes a long way if you know a lot about a smaller bank in interviews / networking calls. So do some research on their deals / niche. Realistically, if you grind practice interviews once you get back to campus with upper classmen you know, you won’t be in that bad of a spot. It’s just reps, so practice ACTUALLY SPEAKING your answers instead of writing / thinking them. Gotta get the interview first tho so lock in with networking. Don’t stress too much, head down and grind, stay off this site, and you should be good lil bro.

"Unmotivated for technicals"? Did I read that right? There are already students out there who know the 400 questions guide front to back. To make matters worse, you're non DEI at a non target. Seems like this post is just wishful thinking.

In lucrative lifestyles, you will find one commonality: discipline > motivation.
