Feel like a loser

2nd yr analyst wrapping up… I feel like I did nothing/learn nothing the past 2yr

Stuck out 30+ interviews across lateral/buyside (I still can’t let myself go for the messing you 2-3 case studies in the past 6 months)

Good chunk of my friends are leaving the city as well….

Career in banking is alright. Get the associate promotion and get better at the job an eventually you’ll start to enjoy it. Once you start nailing pitches it becomes fun and an enjoyable career

Edit: these exact words were told to me when speaking to seniors in banking when I was networking on multiple occasions

Funniest

bro at least finish your SA stint before throwing out advice like this lmao

Respectfully, if 30 interviews did not work out you might need to reevaluate your prep process and figure out what’s going wrong. It’s ridiculous to keep going without a change. Once you’ve diagnosed then fixed your malfunction, go back to bat.

I also left banking for stratfin, can you elaborate on what you do now? And when you left your stratfin gig? I’m 6 months into the gig, but still thinking through long term career choices now

Hey man - am about a year into banking and am worried that I may be in a similar path. What made you realize finance wasn’t for you and what do you do now?
