Financial Modelling Advice
What is the best way to forecast for my DCF?
I'm working through a bunch of financial models but get confused when I set out do it on my own.
What I mean is that when I have a financial modelling or DCF template in front of me, I have no problem going through the steps and coming to the same numbers as my template. However when I change the company that I am forecasting, I can't even balance the balance sheet.
For example, my current issue is that I am trying to forecast Disney's financials so I can do a DCF analysis. My step by step template uses a different company that reports the same line items under different names. Disney would say "Borrowings" in the balance sheet as opposed to "Long-Term debt". This occurs for several line items.
Should I just have my own statements and adjust Disney's to match mine or should I stick strictly to what I get off the 10k's?
