First-year Analyst

I have a FT offer for next year but heard from a few friends who have started that the quality of work is shitty at a first-year analyst level (e.g. creds, text comments, market updates, refreshing comp sheets).

First year analysts, do you share the same sentiment? How are you expected to learn technicals/ financial modelling (if you have no experience) if all you’re doing is menial tasks? And how do you cope when you are eventually given more responsibility?
