First year analyst at BB - no live deals...
Hey everyone, I’m a first year analyst at a BB and have only been on bake offs, pitches, and buy side acquisition financings that are dead. Should I lateral? I did banking for the experience and in 20% done with my 2 years and haven’t been on anything live...
Edit: mid coverage group
We're 20% done with our 2 years? Can you walk me through that math?
Getting me a bit excited, if I do say...
2 years = 730 days. Started July 2020 and there has been 153 calendar days since 7/1/2020 so 153/730 = 20%
Lol the first 2 months don’t really count (you’re training + doing simple books unless you’re at some super small shop dyal/robery warshaw but don’t think they hire FT).
Also, WSO may make it sound like analysts do 1 deal a month in reality thr average BB coverage analyst probably does 1-2 M&A deals their entire analyst stint so I wouldnt worry too much
How many projects would you typically handle at a given time? I’m only on 3-4 pitches or 1-2 pitches + 1 big bake off
Also, yeah I know haha it’s better to say 20% then adjust for training
wtf is dyal
