FIU Kinda Semi-Target?

I was looking through what the incoming summer analyst class will look like and noticed a surprising amount of people from FIU. I went to school in Florida so I'm surprised to see this once sleeper school make it on the Street.

What's driving this newfound success?

Most of these people are diverse candidates and place through SEO. All of the FIU grads I have spoken to that are at banks or PE are Hispanic. (I’m Hispanic too)

What is SEO? I'm currently heavily considering transferring to FIU but was worried it was a bad school and I wouldn't get any IB placement at all. I'm not Hispanic or anything just a white male so I'm not sure if this would affect it. I'm choosing between FIU and ASU but would prefer FIU just not sure if its the smarter option.

Confluence of some really smart kids and diversity. Been really impressed with the guys I’ve spoken to from FIU.
