For those that didn't get returns, what did your review say?
What did your evaluation at the end of the internship say? does it have negative comments which led to no return offer or does it have mostly positive comments as a consolation prize or positive comments because they genuinely don't have headcount?
Mine had all positive comments, even included "high priority to rehire". During the performance discussion, director kept saying he hopes I can return to the bank. Back when I was interviewing with them, they already indicated that there would be slim chances of return offer. Even so, I thought the experience and exposure were worth it, perhaps use it to lateral to another group or bank.

Mine had positive comments but no headcount. And just like that hopes of doing ib full time at least in near term are dashed
