I recently had a call with an analyst from a top boutique and he sounded really miserable. Every question I asked was met with delayed responses that were short and terse. Sounded like the guy hasn't slept well for many days or was multi tasking on some assignment at work while on the call. It felt like a Q&A and he sounded angry with every response and mentioned he worked several hours past midnight really often. Is this how many of the elite boutique firms are like or was it maybe just a tough week for the person I had a call with?

Most my other calls with people at bbs and mms usually went better and people were more friendly
