Found out an intern was rerecruiting, not going to give full-time offer?
Currently a summer intern, and I'm already networking for full-time just in case. I heard from my analyst buddy who's at another bank to watch out, since someone he knew got screwed over. Said the kid was a summer analyst who was doing pretty well, but someone found out from a contact from another bank that he was talking with them, and decided not to give him a full-time offer because of that. Does this really happen? I've only been doing it because some full-time positions are already open so I figured it wouldn't hurt to network, but does it actually hurt?

What are you supposed to do just wait two weeks until the end of the internship is over just to be told by your recruiter that you didn't get a return offer. By that point it's mid-late August and most apps are already carrying out first round interviews.
