Fox-Pitt
Hi all,
Does anybody know anything about an investment bank called Fox-Pitt, Kelton. I believe the bank specializes in FIG and has a good reputation for research and investment banking. Does anybody know what the culture is like, the pay, it's reputation on Wall Street or internationally? Has anybody interviewed with them?

Their much more well-known for research than investment banking. I have two good friends working there, and from what I've heard they pay slightly below the Street. As far as reputation goes, most of their dealflow is co-managing IPOs or add-ons stemming from their research relationships. They don't have much of a reputation at all as far as their advisory goes - I doubt most even know they're active in investment banking. This is all second hand knowledge gained from friends working there, so please take it with a grain of salt.
did your friends go to target schools? what department/country are they in? i really want to specialize in fig and work in a close-knit environment
They went to a non-target and are in research in NY. From reading their website, it looks like they acquired a small Chicago based IB specializing in insurance banking.

Just curious, as to why you want to specialize so early and why FIG? Could be a great selling point to a firm like this, but be careful in limiting yourself with the bigger players. Be sure to stay open-minded to other options. FIG banking is much more specialized due to the complexities and specialized accounting regulations related to the banks and insurance companies.
