From DCM to Equity Derivatives
I know it can sound a bit weird.. For someone having worked 1 year in DCM focusing on both bonds and derivatives fixed-income products (swaps for instance), would it be possible to move to a sales position in equity derivatives (I mean structured products)? Internally? In another bank? In case of an internal move, what strategy should I have (first talk to my boss? HR? the equity derivatives team?)
Thanks a lot
sure, go through ppl you know. why do you want to move to equity derivs?
I have completed an internship in this area at the end of my degree (after I signed in DCM) and really liked it. Structured products are quite complex, sometimes challenging to understand and to sell (at least more challenging than bonds..). Besides, the hours are better and the money pretty good... Do you think I should first talk to my manager or to the people in derivatives? Many thanks
