FT IB First Round With No IB Internship — How to Prep?
Current senior at a target with previous internships in commercial banking and corporate finance. Wasn’t really planning on recruiting for IB, but after mass applying to FT roles I somehow landed a first round with a MM bank for their Industrials group, which lines up pretty well with a lot of my past work and ECs.
I know the basic IB recruiting process and some technicals, but I’ve never seriously prepped for it and now have less than a week before the screening call. Also don’t have prior IB summer experience.
For FT recruiting, what would you guys focus on with only a week to prep? How technical are first rounds usually, and how should I position my background against people who already did an IB summer?
