FT: Lower BB in NY vs. Boutique in TX

***EDIT: Got an offer that vastly outweighs these two so will be taking that***

Says it all up there. Have a FT offer from a bank in NY and one from a boutique in TX. Debating on exit opps between NY and TX because work at boutique is much better/interesting (some of the seniors are jerks but that's fine) and would make a great experience sharing this with PE firms.

That said, DCM is in NY which just has more opps but the nature of the work is qualitative and not as interesting. Thinking it'll get me dinged in exit opps quality-wise since I won't be as strong quantitatively just by virtue of the job.

Advice?

I'm facing a similar dilemma except in reverse - NYC Boutique vs. Tx BB

You mind specifying if the Tx boutique is well-known, and whether it's in Houston Energy or Dallas? Curious to see how you are thinking about this.

Take the BB offer, do rlly well in 1st year, move to a group u wanna be at internally, recruit for PE/whatever you wanna pursue post-banking then

You can always go back TX if you first work in NYC. Happens way less frequently if you start from TX

you really think it's that easy to move from a DCM/ECM type group to a coverage/M&A group after just 1 year? not as easy as you think and most people move after 2 years
