FT offer, but no calls from other BBs

My friend has an offer from the BB she interned in this summer, but isn't getting any calls from other BBs. Don't HR at BBs all talk to one another? What's wrong?

And btw, how do HR at other BBs even know who has offers/kids to contact?

Your friend still needs to apply to other banks. Banks are not going to proactively reach out to her. I hope you don't expect HR at the bank she interned at (that wants her to accept the full time offer) to be calling up competitors and giving away their prime candidates...

Lol, yeah, the fact that she's had the internship will get her in the door more easily, and the fact that she has an offer will get her on the fast-track through the process, but the banks definitely don't need to actually snipe each others' talent.

pacificali, I think you got some serious wrong information somewhere. You can leverage an offer, but it's up to you to do the legwork. HR's entire purpose is to fill the ranks with great candidates, they certainly won't share any with other banks.

pretty embarrassed here - she didn't apply anywhere else. as you might have already guessed, i go to a school in the west coast that doesn't start until later on this month, so we can't apply until school starts. as a matter of fact, i think some banks do not even come to our school. do online applications even matter - will they even be looked at??
