I've been seeing a lot of posts but not a lot of traction on how to pursue the full-time recruiting process. Does anyone have tips on how to pursue full-time recruiting?

Network, network, and network! Went from BB S&T to EB IB. I assumed it would have been easy, coming from a target with strong extracurriculars, but not only was it a very much uphill battle, covid made it even worse. The grades and extracurriculars are kinda assumed. Then it goes down to how well you networked and your ability to craft your story. In terms of the timeline, I started networking in May/June before my SA. In the beginning, you're just sowing the seeds and making connections. Then by September, things start ramping up and interviews come in mid Sept and October. On the bright side, Covid gave me a lot more time.
Have a few questions in regards from S&T to IB.
1) advice on how i can go from SA S&T at a tier 4/5 bank To Full time IB at a decent MM/regional boutique(non target, ok gpa no ib experience ).
2) When networking/interviewing what are some things you have said/done to show that you prefer IB over ST, (i originally went for IB but wasn't able to covert so took the ST summer offer)
1) Technicals should be a given. Like I said, network and know your story. Tbh I don't know much about what it's like recruiting from your background, but I imagine it's an even tougher road ahead.
2) It's all about the story. My extracurriculars and past experiences were a lot more suited to IB than S&T. I just had to make sure I expressed that properly to my interviewers.

Do you have any tips for folks summering at a bank but dont want to be viewed as networking before even starting the SA?
I crafted my story such that I knew I wanted to lateral even before my SA. That's what you have to express in those networking calls. With that said, I heavily don't recommend you network in the bank you are at, risking your return offer.
Are we looking at a higher amount of FT spots given all the analysts quitting?
