Full-Time New Grad IB Recruiting

For IB'ers that recruited for regional boutiques during their junior summer for new grad positions, did you coffee people at these boutiques or did you email them directly regarding a role?

For reference, I have a list of ~30 boutiques that I've verified have taken new grad analysts - I'm curious to know whether I should reach out for a coffee chat.

Follow up question: For the ones I do coffee chats with, how do I mention in the call that I want to join them for new grad positions? How do I ask about that and shift the convo towards that way?

Thank you in advance!

Personally, cold emailing and applying was way more effective. I had a decently well known SA on my resume which may have helped but since I was applying all over the country I couldn't ask for coffee, and even for the ones in town, I found it easier to fit a call in someone's schedule. If I had one call with someone that I vibed with I would've later asked for coffee but by then they probably already assessed if you'd be a decent candidate for a first round but it obviously wouldn't hurt just don't get your feelings hurt if they're busy/ghost.
